Rough and Colourful / Rau und Bunt

A series of experiments was conducted to investigate the properties of coloured compressed wood chipboard, focusing on the colouring of the wood chips, various binders and their influence on the surface, structure and appearance. The resulting surface samples highlight the diversity and distinctive characteristics of the material. As a design application, four objects were developed to test the material in different contexts of use and to bring its aesthetic qualities to life. The result is rough and colourful.

Delfin Visual Identity

The Delfin Bicycle Self-Help Workshop is a small nonprofit organization that has been based in Halle’s Volkspark since around 2022. Over time, it became clear that the workshop in the Volkspark is hard to find and that the Telegram channel, as the sole means of communication, is not enough. This reinforced the idea of creating a “visual identity” for Delfin. The result is a set of signs for indoor and outdoor wayfinding, a website, and stickers. The design draws on the workshop’s “grungy” aesthetic. [www.werkstatt-delfin.de]
